Current Versions of ESRI Software

The following ESRI software products are covered under USC's Site License contract # 92S0941 with Environmental Systems Research Institute (except where noted). The terms of the license state that software may be used for instructional or University-related research and internal use by students, staff and faculty on the Columbia campus.

Contact Kevin Remington (Campus GIS Coordinator) at 777-0957 or kcr@sc.edu to borrow CD copies of software for installation. Kevin's office is located in Callcott Building (Geography)-room 321.

You will be required to sign a Software Release Form .

NOTE: A fully functioning version of ArcGIS will require the end user to have access to an ESRI license server OR purchase a hardware dongle that unlocks the software via a license file. The dongle costs $40.00 (one-time, non-refundable charge) and can be purchased from us. You will then be issued a license file for a period of up to one year (license periods are from July 1-June 30). As long as you are affiliated with USC we will renew your license free of charge on a yearly basis.
