This 1 hour course will help beginners understand what GIS is, as well
as some of the fundamental principles and concepts behind GIS. If
you have worked with GIS previously, are aware of its possible uses and
apllications, or have taken some academic-level courses in GIS, you may
not need to register for this class. If GIS is new to you, however,
or if your exposure to GIS has been limited, or if you simply want to learn
more, this class would be good to expose you to the ever-growing, fun-filled
world of geographic information systems. Some topics covered in this class include:
