The Geography Department maintains two teaching classrooms (30 seats each) with a complete install of the ArcGIS desktop and ArcInfo interface, as well as several other GIScience applications (ArcView 3.x, FeatureAnalyst, LIDAR Analyst, ENVI, etc.). Classroom 005 has the basic ArcGIS suite installed whereas desktops in open lab/classroom 301 provide this basic suite in addition to the other referenced applications. (Note: In most cases these other apps. are installed on only some of the machines - due to licensing restrictions. Check with a departmental staff member for access considerations).
The Department also provides a training facility which can be scheduled for College use. This 16 seat lab functions primarily to support the campus GIS training program.
Current desktop specs for all facilities include:
Dell GX270 (small form factor) -
P 4 processor (3.0 Ghz), 1 gig RAM, 128 mb nVidia FX5200 video card, an 80 GB hard drive – 7200 RPM and a 24x CDRW/DVD combo drive
