The Community Garden is a collaborative project that began in July 2007 and provides a tangible statement of how food and agricultural issues are part of green living. Green Quad now has more than 1,000 square feet of vegetable garden, surrounded by fruit trees, berries and aquatic habitat. The garden is based on permaculture practices that use applied principles of ecology, such as water conservation methods and homegrown fertility, to create a sustainable and low-maintenance garden.
