Assistant Professor, Ancient/Late Antiquity. The History Department at the University of South Carolina seeks to fill a tenure-track assistant professorship in the Ancient/Late Antique History of the Mediterranean basin to begin August 16, 2009. The research specialty is open, but the Department has particular interest in ethnicity, civil/human rights, economic development, religion, gender, and the environment. The successful applicant will teach a 2/2 load, including a survey of Western Civilization.
