Professor Kerenji teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in modern and contemporary East European, Jewish, and general European history.  His research focuses on the issues of nationalism and nation-building, genocide and mass violence, socialism and post-socialist transition in Eastern Europe, and post-Holocaust Jewishness in Europe.  Professor Kerenji has published book chapters, encyclopedia entries, and book reviews on these topics.

Current Activities

Professor Kerenji is currently preparing a book manuscript that will trace the dynamic of Jewish identification in the Yugoslav lands from the second half of the nineteenth century until the present.
