EXPERIENCE AS TOUR LEADER/GUIDE
             
             Summer 1988:   Six weeks in Tunisia as leader/instructor for
                           approximately twenty secondary school
                           students participating in National Council on
                           U.S.-Arab Relations Kerr Scholars program.

Summer 1989:    Same as above.

Spring 1998:     Three weeks in Yemen and Oman as
                          accompanying scholar for a group of twelve
                          travelers in a program arranged by Distant
                          Horizons, Long Beach, California.

Fall 1999:          Three weeks in Tunisia as accompanying
                          scholar for A group of eighteen travelers in a
                          program arranged by the National Trust for
                          Historic Preservation.

            Spring 2000:      Two weeks in Spain, Tunisia, and Italy as
                                       one of two study leaders for a group of forty-five
                                       travelers in a program co-sponsored by the   
                                       Smithsonian Institute and the Santa Barbara
                                       Museum of Art.
