PUBLIC HISTORY ---- NCPH Student Award goes to USC
Two Public History Students from the University of South Carolina have won the award for the best student project presented annually by the National Council on Public History. Susan Asbury and Kathy Hilliard accepted the award at the recent NCPH meeting in St. Louis. Their prize-winning project was a comprehensive management plan for the Kiplin Hall estate in North Yorkshire, site of the England field course taught by Professor Constance Schulz every other summer. A team of six Public History students and alumni assembled the final management plan and included Kristen Davidson, Mary Lehman, John Sherrer, and Marta Thacker. As the only team members who were still students at the time, Susan Asbury and Kathy Hilliard accepted the award on behalf of the project team.
