APPLICATION FOR WIIAS ASSOCIATE STATUS

 

 

Faculty members whose research or teaching interests include international and cross-cultural issues are encouraged to apply for Associate status at the Walker Institute. USC-system faculty and faculty at institutions within the greater Midlands area are eligible for Associate status.

 

Benefits of Associate status include:

  • opportunity for intellectual exchange across disciplines
  • eligibility for WIIAS support (see separate awards announcement--awards of up to $5,000 for research, program-sponsorship, curricular development) More information can be found at www.cas.sc.edu/IIS/facultyaward.htm.
  • eligibility for office space at WIIAS
  • access to WIIAS reading room/multi-media center, with computer support, teleconferencing facilities, etc. institutional support for grant development
  • eligibility for research assistance from WIIAS RAs
  • limited photocopying privileges
  • Assistance with conferences, symposia, and colloquia

 

Associates’ Responsibilities include

  • active participation in the community of scholars associated with WIIAS
  • attendance at WIIAS lectures and events when possible
  • sharing the results of research with WIIAS colleagues
  • availability to serve on WIIAS committees
