CULTURES OF INTERPRETATION: PROBLEMS AND VISIONS IN THE ANTHROPOLOGY OF SCIENCE

Christopher Toumey

September 24, 2002
Tuesday, 12:30pm
Preston Seminar Room

The anthropology of science has had a peculiar experience with the science wars of the past ten years. To understand that experience, we need to consider the history and variety of ethnographic studies of scientific thought. From that exercise, we can derive some insights into the cultural qualities of science and their implications for anthropological thought.
