The South Carolina Society for Philosophy was founded to serve the
interests and needs of philosophy students and professionals around the
State of South Carolina. We meet once a year, generally sometime in
February or early March, at various universities or colleges around the
state (usually rotating the meeting location from year to year among
coastal, midlands, and upstate campuses). At this yearly conference, there
are usually some special sessions with invited speakers, but the bulk of
the sessions are based on submitted papers. There are no annual dues, but
members pay a registration fee to attend the annual meeting. Recently we
have been holding joint meetings every other year with the North Carolina Philosophy
Society, alternating meetings between
South Carolina and North Carolina locations.

SCSPLIST@LISTSERV.SC.EDU is an electronic discussion list for SCSP members.
This e-mail list may be used to post announcements (calls for papers,
conference anouncements, job announcements, etc.) regarding philosophy
activities and events which may be of general interest to all SCSP members.
Members can use it to announce events at their local institutions that may
draw participants from other SC locales.
To subscribe to this list, send an e-mail message to listserv@listserv.sc.edu with
the following single line typed in the body of the message:
SUBSCRIBE SCSPLIST YourFirstName YourLastName
As a simple security measure, you will receive an e-mail message asking you
to confirm your request to join the list (just follow the given
directions). You will then be notified that you are subscribed to the list.
You will also receive a standard USC listserv message with instructions on
how e-mail lists work (how to post messages to the list; how to remove your
name from the list, should you want to do so at some later point; etc.).
