NORTH CAROLINA PHILOSOPHICAL SOCIETY 2012 Joint Conference
Elon University GENERAL INFORMATIONSessions will begin in the early afternoon on Friday the 24th and end in the evening on Saturday the 25th. There will be a reception Friday night. The program can be viewed here. A map of Elon University, including directions, is available here. Here is another map with buildings and parking lots clearly marked. Participants can park in either the McMichael or Moseley parking lots: anywhere in those lots, not just the visitor parking spaces. McMichael and Moseley are buildings 9 and 27 on the campus map. Registration will be in Belk Pavilion, Room 208. This is building 14 on the campus map. (Note that this is not Belk library, but Belk Pavilion, in the Academic Village.) Our local organizers at Elon have arranged for a block of rooms to be held for attendees of the conference at the Country Inn & Suites at 3211 Wilson Drive, Burlington, NC (phone: 336-584-1115) at a conference rate of either $81/night (for a suite with king bed) or $89/night (for a suite with double queen beds). The cut-off date for reservations at this rate is February 10, 2012. People making reservations just need to mention Elon University Philosophy Department in order to get those rates. The rooms in which you'll be presenting are equipped with computers and projectors if you need them. There will be wifi Internet access at the conference site. If you would like to inquire about coordinating local transportation or lodging, one way to do this is to start a thread on the SCSP's facebook page. The SCSP conference fee is $35. The SCSP accepts payment through PayPal. Just enter your name in the box below and click the "buy now" button: |
