Providing POLITICAL SCIENCE Graduates with Employment Opportunities
* Providing
current Students with Internship Opportunities
Our alumni compose a vast web of
experiences and contacts, that could be of great
benefit to current students and graduates– with BA’s MA’s, MPA’s
or Ph.D.’s. If your own business or organization has employment or
internship
opportunities, or you know of someone or some organization that does
and you
could provide a vital introduction, please contact us. Or, if you would
like to meet
our current students or be involved in one of our career workshop
programs,
please let us know.
* Volunteer
to be a Guest Speaker
There are other ways to take advantage of
that vast web of experience. Would you
like to speak to one of our classes, to one of our undergraduate clubs,
or specific
groups of graduate students? Let us know about your special experiences
or
specific areas of expertise, as well as your interest in visiting us on
campus.
* How
You Can help Us Recruit Graduate Students
Many of our alumni have remained in
academia. We are always on the lookout for
qualified and motivated graduate students– and our best recruiters are
our former
students. If you know undergraduates who are interested in graduate
study, please
ask them to consider Political Science at South Carolina. Feel free to
contact us or have the
students get in touch with us directly.
* Gifts
and Giving
Why give? There are many reasons,
including a wish to make a difference in the
lives of today’s students, in gratitude for the educational experience
you received,
to honor or memorialize someone you love, or to demonstrate your
regard– indeed
passion– for research and teaching and to provide support for faculty
who are
engaged in the enterprise of generating and disseminating knowledge.
The easiest gift to make and the one most
often made is the gift of cash. Cash gifts
are tax deductible and thus will reduce the “out-of-pocket" cost of the
gift. You
may make payments with cash, check, or money order, payable to the USC
Educational Foundation, with Political Science in the "For" line. They
may be mailed or
hand-delivered to the Department in Gambrell Hall. Further information
on various
ways to give may be obtained from the College of ARTS AND SCIENCES
Development
Office.
