The John C. West Forum on Politics and Policy was established at the University of South Carolina in 2002 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit civic leadership incubator that works to enhance the quality of South Carolina’s Political Environment.
An initiative of the Department of Political Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Carolina, the Forum is named for former Governor and Ambassador John C. West, whose career exemplifies the civic values and leadership qualities that the Forum promotes.
The Forum hosts seminars and panel discussions about key political issues throughout the year, and conducts taped interviews with South Carolina's civic leaders. Events and interviews are taped and transcribed. Text transcriptions, photos, audio and video clips are available throughout the site.
