Yi-hung (Eric) Chiou



Eric Yi-hung Chiou is a Ph.D. student from Taiwan. His primary field of study is international relations, especially focusing on regional and international integration. He is also interested in political economy, trade politics, and international organizations. Currently, he concentrates on regional integration in East Asia, particularly in Southeast Asia. Eric obtained his B.A. and M.A. from the National Taiwan University. In 2002, he was awarded the Public Scholarship for overseas studies sponsored by Taiwan's Ministry of Education. Before coming to the US in 2003, he has worked as a supervisor in the overseas trading department in one of leading manufacturing enterprises in Taiwan, as a chief of staff in a legislator's office in the Legislative Yuan (Taiwanese Parliament), and as a journalist covering international news. Currently, Eric is a research assistant for the University of South Carolina's Center for Asian Studies. Eric can be reached via email at chiouyihung@gmail.com .
