Jennifer Barnes is a Ph.D. student
from San Diego, CA. Her primary field of study is American
politics, with an emphasis on the federal judiciary. Jennifer's
research to date includes studies of the historical trends and forces
guiding decisions rendered by both the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal
and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Prior to attending the University of South Carolina, Jennifer received
her B.A. in political science from the University of Vermont.
Jennifer then served for three years as the coordinator of both the
Adjunct Attorney and Law Clerk programs for the United States
Department of Justice in the Criminal Division of the United States
Attorney's Office in San Diego, CA. After moving to South
Carolina, she worked as an assistant to the Director of Legal Education
at the United States Department of Justice's National Advocacy Center
in Columbia, SC.
