Applications Tips

  • All application materials must be furnished by the application deadline date, January 1, to be considered for admission in the fall of the same year. There are no mid-year admissions or consideration for part-time student status. It is the applicant's responsibility to make sure all materials arrive on time for review. Note that one may apply to only one graduate program at USC in a given year
  • Applications should be submitted on-line from the USC Graduate School homepage (www.gradschool.sc.edu). Please specify the psychology program in which you are interested.
  • The Supplementary Information Sheet for the School Psychology Doctoral Program can be downloaded from this web page. To download, click on either pdf file format or Word file format.
  • The Grade Sheet for Graduate Applicants to the School Psychology Doctoral Program can be downloaded from this web page as well. To download, click on either pdf file format or Word file format.
  • Information can also be obtained from our Graduate Admissions Program Coordinator, Marti Brown, at:
      Address:
        Psychology Graduate Admissions
        Psychology Department
        University of South Carolina
        Columbia, SC 29208-0182

      Phone: (803) 777-2312

      Email: marthab@gwm.sc.edu
  • Arrange to take the GRE's in the Fall (or earlier). Historically, GRE scores hold up more applications than any other cause. GRE scores may be submitted by using the following school code: 5818.
  • Check on your application materials. The Graduate School and Psychology Department process many thousands of applications for the various programs each year. With this volume, things can get lost or misplaced. We recommend you check in with Ms. Brown by phone or e-mail to confirm that your materials have been received by the Graduate School and forwarded to the Psychology Department.

Good luck in whatever program or endeavor you pursue. We appreciate your interest in our programs.
