Michael J. Mungo Pre-Seminary Scholarship

    The Mungo Scholarship is an annual award given to undergraduate students who are enrolled in a program of study in preparation for entering a religious seminary of any faith. Students need not be religious studies majors and may apply more than once. Students must be residents of South Carolina. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. The amounts awarded may vary from year to year.

    The deadline for applications is May 15. Complete the application form (fillable pdf format)—along with the requested two statements (explanations are on the form)— print them out, sign the form and send all to:

Elizabeth Dodge Clark Award

    This is an award for excellence given to a Religious Studies major. A book is given to an outstanding undergraduate senior on Awards Day in the Spring each year. Eligible students are seniors and newly graduated (in the same academic year that the award is given) with the highest GPAs. Students do not apply for this award; recipient is nominated and selected by the Religious Studies faculty.

Rising Senior Award

    The Rising Senior Award is given out in the spring each year by the College of Arts and Sciences for each department. It is a a monetary award that is deducted from the student’s tuition in the upcoming year. The Religious Studies recipient of this award is selected by the Religious Studies faculty based academic excellence.

The Fund for Theological Education

    FTE offers support for young people interested in entering Christian ministry. Its purpose is to advance excellence and to encourage caring, capable and courageous young adults from diverse backgrounds on their journey to become pastors and scholars—the next generation of leaders for the church. http://www.thefund.org/
