Welcome to the Sociology Department!

The Sociology Department is the sole occupant of Sloan College, a 1920s Georgian-style building located in a shady setting near the historic “Horseshoe” on the lush USC campus. Still gleaming from a complete top-to-bottom renovation, Sloan provides offices for Sociology faculty and graduate students, plus a variety of state-of-the-art classrooms, the Laboratory for Sociological Research, and gathering spaces for meetings, presentations, and for just talking shop.

Our faculty members include award-winning teachers, as well as nationally and internationally renowned scholars. We offer two undergraduate majors leading to the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees, and graduate degrees at the Masters and Doctoral levels.

Please explore our website, visit our building, or come talk with our faculty and students. You will find an amazing variety of sociological interests that are represented here, both in the courses we offer and in the numerous cutting-edge research projects now underway.

We encourage you to get to know us!
