1. How do I register for summer classes?

Current Students
All students already admitted to the University of South Carolina may register through VIP, https://vip.sc.edu/. Detailed instructions are available on the registrar’s website, http://registrar.sc.edu/html/FrontMatter/registration_info.stm.

Visiting Students
Undergraduate applications are available through the Admissions office, http://www.sc.edu/admissions/appnondegree.php. Assistance and advising for all undergraduates not seeking a degree from the University of South Carolina is offered through the office of Adult Student Services, http://saeu.sc.edu/adult/.


Graduate level students can apply through the Graduate School, http://learn.sc.edu/pages/ExgC_How_NonDegree.html.

2. What is the right course level for me?

100-400 level courses are available for undergraduate credit only, 500-600 level courses are available for undergraduate or graduate credit, and courses at the 700-800 level are for graduate credit only.

3. How much does a course cost?

The 2008-2009 in-state tuition rate is 395.00 per credit hour. The out-of-state rate is 1,029.00. Additional information is available from the Office of the Bursar: http://www.sc.edu/bursar/schedule_columbia.shtml.

4. Is financial aid available?

USC students may apply for financial aid for the summer through the Office of Financial Aid. Applications will be available on VIP beginning April 1 and are due on May 1. Additional information is available at http://www.sc.edu/financialaid/summer.html.
