MASTER OF ARTS PROGRAM
This program is primarily designed for those seeking preparation for a terminal
degree. The MA degree program is appropriate also for those experienced and
certified secondary school teachers who wish intensive academic specialization
in theatre and speech.
All MA candidates take a required theatre research methods course in order to
enroll in courses which earn credit towards graduation. Candidates for the MA
degree must take a minimum of 30 credits distributed as follows: twelve credits
in theory or history of the discipline; nine credits in supportive studies;
three credits of thesis preparation; and six credits of elective courses. Candidates
must pass a comprehensive examination. A scholarly thesis is required.
All graduate students are urged to read "Academic Regulations"
in the graduate Bulletin.
